]]> A couple of years back it was a daydream of envisaging one of the largest airports in the world in Uttar Pradesh. The idea came on account of the increasing load of flight in IGI Delhi. There was a demand for a new airport that can ease out the load factor in Delhi. For so many years the debates were done and surveys were conducted for the selection of the place. The thought behind was that the location should be closer to Delhi, either in Agra or somewhere in between Delhi and Agra. Such a location can be useful to the people of western Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Delhi NCR. Thus the Noida International Airport was planned.

Finally, the location was selected at Jewar in Gautam Buddh Nagar of Uttar Pradesh state and the proposed airport construction is going to be started soon with the inaugural of the project. In this project, both the central government and state governments are involved. On behalf of the state government, the Yamuna expressway industrial development authority will be the implementing agency.

Location of the Noida International airport

This airport is going to be located at Jewar which comes into the area of Greater Noida. This will be almost halfway from Greater Noida and Agra. Zurich airport has won the bid for the construction of the airport. This is going to be having six runways. In the first phase, they have a plan to complete the 2 runways by the end of 2022.

Specialties of Noida International Airport

The state chief minister Yogi Adityanath recently declared to make this airport the largest of India and even of Asia. So far in the country, the airports with the 3 runways are operating. For this purpose, it was decided to make it equipped with 6 runways. After the initial 1st phase, in the other two phases, the other 4 runways are planned to be made for the construction the land has already been acquired by the Yamuna expressway authority and the district administration. This land has been handed over to the state government. All the No objection certificated from the concerned department have been acquired.
