Day 1 (Sunday) : Delhi

A grand traditional welcome awaits you as you arrive at the Safdarjung railway station of New Delhi. The tour manager of Maharajas express will give you an introduction of the regal train and the facilities available to the tourist onboard. The crew also imparts a welcome to the tourist. On board enjoy the Indian and continental delicacies at the Mayur mahal and Rangmahal restaurant cars, The train leaves Delhi and chugs on for its next destination Jaipur. Overnight onboard Maharajas express.

Day 2 (Monday) : Jaipur

You wake up in the state of Rajasthan very well known for its Royal traditions and heritage. The capital city of Rajasthan Jaipur is also famous as the Pink city. After a healthy breakfast we embark on the tour of Jaipur starting with Amber fort, the royal citadel is perched high up in the Aravali mountains. The Amber fort has series of royal pavilions built in classical Mughal and Rajput style of architecture. After exploring Amber fort visit City palace a residence of the Jaipur royalty here be a spectacle to the royal exhibits on display at city palace museum. Also indulge in ride/activities of Indian royal elephants. Marvel at the Jalmahal palace a partial submerged building surrounded by a beautiful lake. After exploring the palaces and the city of jaipur you return back to the cosy comforts of the Maharajas express. You can also indulge in a shopping spree at the famous Jaipur markets. Evening is reserved for a traditional dance and recreational activity at a premium five star venue of Jaipur. Join the Maharajas express as it chugs out of Jaipur and commences its journey to Sawai Madhopur.

Day 3 (Tuesday) : Ranthambore and Fatehpur Sikri

Today rise early as you have an appointment with the Royal Bengal tiger of Ranthambore national park. The guided Jungle safari of Ranthambore is once in a life time opportunity to gaze at the enormous Royal Bengal tiger. After the safari move back to the cosy confines of Maharajas express and indulge in lip smacking delicacies rendered at the dining cars.The train moves on for its next destination Fatehpursikri famous as the ghost capital of the great Mughal emperor Akbar. Explore the erstwhile capital famous for its red sand stone architecture. Move on to the city of Agra onboard Maharajas express.

Day 4 (Wednesday) : Agra

Today morning is reserved for a visit to the most beautiful one and only the Tajmahal of Agra. The white marble marvel was constructed by Mughal emperor Shahjehan in memory of his wife Mumtaj mahal begum . Enjoy a morning break fast at a mound near Tajmahal”Tajkhema” marvel at the glory of Tajmahal. After the visit return to the Maharajas express and continue onward journey to the city of Orchha. The dinner will be served onboard.

Day 5 (Thursday) : Orchha and Khajuraho

The tall spires of age old Raja Ram temple at Orchha , enjoy a guided tour of the heritage city of Orchha. After visiting the monuments the train resumes its journey to Khajuraho a temple city in the central India where you will marvel at the thousand odd year old temples. The temples are an ode in sand stone they are a world heritage site of UNESCO. You can enjoy the facilities of a five star hotel like the spa, Light and sound show and Dances of India show. After the visit get back to the Maharajas express as it resumes its journey to Varanasi.

Day 6 (Friday) : Varanasi

Rise in the city of Varanasi one of the oldest city of Indian subcontinent. After breakfast at one of the onboard restaurant visit a silk weaving centre, Visit an ancient Buddhist site Sarnath where Lord Buddha is said to have said his first sermon, also visit the Sarnath museum where old precious exhibits are displayed.. The lunch is at a five star hotel The Taj Gateway. In the evening enjoy a boat ride at river Varanasi and witness the famous evening arti of Varanasi at river Ganges ghats. After the hectic day move back to Maharajas express as train moves on to its final destination.

Day 7 (Saturday) : Delhi (Disembark)

Arrive at Delhi enjoy an onboard sumptuous breakfast. The train will be back at Safdarjung railway station the same station from where the journey began. Take a cart full of memories of the Maharajas express and its wonderful sojourn.
