Best Bhutan Tour Itinerary

Day1:- Arrive Paro - Thimphu

Upon landing at the international airport in Paro which is the only international airport in the country. You will be received by the company representative and transfer straight to the capital city Thimphu. Your evening is free to admire the beauty of this Himalayan city famous for the panoramic views. Stay overnight at hotel.

Day2:- Thimphu

Enjoy the sumptuous breakfast at hotel and then proceed for the full day tour of Thimphu which is purely dedicated to visit the monasteries and the sites of Lord Buddha. First of all visit the Buddha Dordenma. This tallest statue of Buddha is one among the tallest sitting state of Lord Buddha overlooking the Thimphu city. Your next visit will be of Changangkha monastery which is one of the most beautiful pilgrimage site in the country. Later visit Drupthob nunnery temple. In the last you will visit the Tashiccho Dzong which is 17th century fort housing Bhutan king office and other administrative offices. The legend said that no single iron nail used to built this fortress and most of the fortress in the country are built in the same manner. Your evening is free to visit the traditional markets famous for bamboo and wooden handicrafts. Stay overnight at hotel.

Day3:- Thimphu - Punakha

On the third day of your tour you will enjoy the breakfast at hotel and then leave for Punakha. En-route visit the most visited site of the country Dochula Pass which is located on the high altitude of 3140 m. This is the best place for watching the snow capped mountains and the panoramic views of the eastern Himalayan ranges. After wards you will stop to visit Simtokha Dzong which is one of the oldest Dzong in the country. Also visit the Punakha dzong which is the second oldest Dzong in the country famous for its majestic architecture. Upon reaching Punakha you will be checked in to your hotel for overnight stay.

Day4:- Punakha - Paro

Enjoy the healthy breakfast and then travel back to Paro. Here you will visit the Drukgyel Dzong which is a fortress and Buddhist monastery located in the upper part of Paro district. This fortress is built in 1649 to commemorate the victory over Tibet. Your next visit will be of Ta Dzong which is also known as the national museum. Your evening is free to enjoy the independent activities. Stay overnight at hotel.

Day5:- Depart Paro

After the sumptuous breakfast you will be drop at the international airport in Paro to catch your flight to return back your home.
