Babur, the founder of the Mughal Dynasty in Agra came as an invader from Fergana, from Central Asia and had no intention to settle in India. He later changed his mind finding the riches in the country, as it was very hard for him to cope with the caching heat of May and June while mercury rises to 48 degrees Celsius.

The Taj Mahal Gardens

The gardens of the Taj Mahal mausoleum are built on the typical four-quarter garden system. They are further divided into 4 quarters thus there are sixteen gardens. The tomb is set at the end of the Top Gardens & Parks in Agra. The tomb is set at the end of the gardens, unlike other Mughal monuments where the mausoleum is set amidst the four quartered gardens.

Mehtab Bagh

This garden is supposed to be created by Emperor Babur in 1529 and the passage of time it was Sunken into the mud by the inundating flood. In 1996 the Archaeological Survey of India excavated these foundations of the gardens. They found a big water tank, some wells, fountains, etc. Later on, they developed a beautiful garden on the Mughal theme in the same place where this Mehtab Bagh (Moon Light) garden used to be.

Garden of Akbar’s Tomb

The Mughal emperor Akbar’s Tomb is situated at Sikandra around 15 km away from Agra. Besides architectural importance, this tomb is famous for its beautiful gardens. These gardens are made in the typical Mughal style of Char bag (from quartered garden) style. These gardens in the sunken style add charm to the Mausoleum.

The tomb is surrounded by a symmetrical garden, running water foundations, water causes, and cascades. The abundance of native flora and fauna attracts tourists. During the English period one army officer neared up a couple of blackbucks and presently by procreation, their number has multiplied and during your Agra Tour, you can see hundreds of these antelopes in a sportive mood playing all around these gardens and enjoy grazing.

Ram Bag: Nature Garden 

This was one of the favorite gardens of Babur and is situated very close to the National Highway Delhi to Kolkata. Emperor Babur envisaged this garden and he loved frequently visiting his favorite garden. It was this place where after his death his body was temporarily buried and later according to his Bill his remains were exhumed and shifted to Kabul where Tomb is built.

This garden is presently laking the basic style of Mughal Gardens and is much reformed during the British era. Now the Archaeological Survey of India gave it them of the shape of Mughal Garden.

Shahjahan Garden Near Taj Mahal

This park is situated very close to the Taj Mahal and provides a good ambiance in the surroundings of the Taj Mahal. If you choose to go to visit The Taj Mahal by entering the West Gate, you can enjoy walking through this beautiful garden.

This garden built after the construction of the Taj provides a very good point for leisure visitors. This bisected by a walkway that covers the whole garden. Just opposite to this park you see the q holes Golf Course. You can enjoy fresh aroma and the lush greenery in both of these gardens.

Paliwal Park 

This Krishna Dutta Paliwal Park was previously known as Hewitt Park. This is spread into a large area of more than 70 acres of land in the heart of the city. This is a nice park for the localities for the morning walking and doing yoga exercises and for basking into the sun. Mariam Tomb’s Garden

This beautiful garden tomb is located close to the Akbar’s Tomb in Sikandra area. Like the other Mughal gardens, this place also has four gardens with the tomb set in the mid of these gardens. During the winters and summertime, the bed of native flowers and shrubs mesmerize the tourists. Everywhere the butterflies are seen in abundance. The Taj Nature Walk 

This is a beautiful Park developed by the four Departments in close proximity to the Taj Mahal. This provides a good ambiance to the Taj and severs as an eco forest.
